New Zealand set to host the OFFICIAL 2016 UIM jetsprint world series
An international field of jetsprint boats are set to power their way into Meremere Sprint Bowl and Mt Maunganui's Baypark Stadium next January, bringing a whole new level of hi-octane, international racing action.
Up to 60 high-powered boats, top teams and drivers from the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will battle it out for world titles across three classes: Suzuki Unlimited Superboats, Altherm Group A, Biolytix Group B (400s).
These precision-engineered jet boats reach 0-100kph in under two seconds, and pull up to 7g's and 130kph on aqua-tracks the size of a rugby field. The natural amphitheater at Meremere and stadium setting at Baypark allows spectators to get up close to the to the racing action, providing 2 days of thrills, spills and family entertainment - both on and off the track.
The biennial UIM Jetsprint World Championship won’t be returning to our shores until 2022 - so don't miss this opportunity to check out the international field, and support our Kiwi teams defending their current world titles.
