New Zealand Jetsprint Association

Round two (formally round three) of the 2018 Altherm Window Systems NZ Jet Sprint Championship will be held at Shelter View track in Wanganui on the traditional date of Wednesday the 27th of December. So far the season has gone from one extreme to the other with Wanaka being cut short and Featherston being abandoned because of a drought. The drivers, especially those that didn't make it to round one, are in a competitive drought and are chomping at the bit to get back in the ...water. In Stinger Group B Paddy and Jay Haden will be looking to increase their points lead after taking the win at Wanaka. Both Kellie Minnell and Daniel “Buttercup” Reade will be trying to make sure that doesn't happen. Fowler Homes Group A points leaders Ollie Silverton and Jess Sit know that the competition will be fierce with Si Gibbon back after his crash, Neil Marshall back in his own boat, and Ross Travers all capable of a win. With Sam Newdick not having driven his 570 powered Mouthfresh Superboat before the start at Wanaka and still coming second, Peter Caughey knows that he will have to work hard to take the win at Wanganui. With the track favouring high horsepower, Rob Coley, Richard Murray, Blake Briant, and Aussie Ted Sygidus are all capable of taking the win. 41 crews have entered and the round will be run with four qualifiers, or five if time permits, then the top 9, 6, 3 Eliminations. Gates open at 11, a pit walk at 2:30 pm and racing finishing around 7.
